Michael Hurd has been a professional artist for most of his life; his specialty is oil and watercolor. This gallery contains prints of originals that Michael has created over the years. Much of the scenery painted in his landscapes is straight from his home on Sentinal Ranch in San Patrico, NM.
As a student of renowned illustrator, N.C. Wyeth, Peter Hurd developed the skills and dedication needed to capture the dynamic vistas and culture of New Mexico and the American Southwest. He was a consummate artist who was proficient in watercolors, egg temperas and lithographs. He left behind a large body of work that many consider the epitome of Southwest art.
Henriette Wyeth-Hurd is widely recognized for her floral and still-life oils paintings, as well as for her tremendous talent in portraiture. In integrating the Hispanic culture of New Mexico, with the Wyeth technique, Henriette’s work uniquely different from that of her family, both in content and composition. Today, Henriette Wyeth-Hurd is regarded as one of the greatest women painters of the 20th century.
